About Lovely Linda

PullMyDaizy is the collecting place for the writings and creative musings of Linda A. Rapka. A rare breed of a Los Angeles native, I spend my time on the east side of town staying up late at rock shows, interviewing musicians, and running through parks chasing squirrels with my pup, Betsy.

Women’s March Los Angeles

January 21, 2017: A historic day of unity, organizing, fervor, and love.

I marched in unity with millions around the world, with women and men of all colors, ages, gender identities, religions, and economic levels, to say that the imminent attacks on all of our rights will not be tolerated.

The incoming administration has voiced clear intent — and already begun — to strip away civil rights and access to health care, raise housing premiums for those who can afford it least, enforce unjust policies on women’s reproductive rights and immigration, and impose laws that will destroy the environment.

I am proud to be among these individuals committed to protecting all of our rights.

This is just the beginning. Continue reading

The Moog – ‘The Moog’ EP (2016, MuSick Recordings)

Just as the resplendent beauty of Buda provides a refreshing contrast to the bustling vitality of Pest, the band’s rock, new wave and dark wave influences offset modern indie-pop sensibilities to create a sound at once familiar and altogether new. Game of Thronesing in Northern Ireland

The Dark Hedges (aka “The Kingsroad” in Game of Thrones)

During my 5-day stay in Dublin, despite how much I loved this lively city full of the friendliest people I’ve ever had the good fortune to meet, I decided to take advantage of my proximity to Northern Ireland, UK.

After a long evening spent partaking in the extreme nightlife offered in Temple Bar, I was boarded a coach at the ungodly hour of 6 a.m., and our bus full of bleary eyed adventurers took off for a full day of exploration to some of the most gorgeous natural sites in the world.

What will be of no surprise to Game of Thrones fans, many of these landscapes have also played host to film crews for the massively popular show, whose location scouts seek out the most wondrous, beautiful, and remote places on earth: Iceland, Croatia, and Morocco, to name a few. The vast majority of the show’s filming takes place in Northern Ireland, and after visiting there, I can see why — there is staggering beauty literally everywhere you turn.

My take on classic Alfredo sauce

It annoys me to no end when food blogs force you to scroll past nine paragraphs of drivel before allowing you to see the only thing you want to see: THE RECIPE. I vow to never do this to you.
